The Barnette

Located on the edge of our Botanical Garden in Upstate New York, the “Barnette” is for nature lovers. This newly built repurposed barn is perfect for relaxing, exploring nature, and getting away from it all. Nearby are lots of hiking, rail trails, and farms. We are within driving distance of the Mohonk Mountain House, Minnewaska, Catskill Mountains, and a two hour drive from Manhattan. For winter enthusiasts there’s plenty of places to snowshoe, ski and hike 20-60 minutes away.

The Space

This is a 24′ x 16′, two-story barn. The first floor is an open floor plan consisting of the living room, dining area, and kitchenette. This space includes two french doors leading out onto a large deck, letting in lots of natural light. Upstairs is the bedroom and bathroom.

As fellow “Air BnBers” who love to travel and experience new things, we have designed this space to model what we look for in our rentals. A large shower, a memory foam mattress with lots of pillows, comfortable places to sit, a fully equipped kitchen, and a wood stove.

My husband and I are both artists who love using the natural world as inspiration for our art. As such, the Barnette is filled with botanical artwork (for sale), along with natural found objects. During the growing season we will be able to offer guests different crops from the garden and fresh eggs from our hens. Don’t hesitate to ask us what we be available for harvesting at the time of your booking! The Barnette is secluded and private, perfect for your getaway from the big city!
